KEY FACTS
According to HNO Syria 2023, Access to sufficient and affordable safe water, adequate sanitation, solid waste management and/or hygiene supplies remain a challenge for more than two million people seeking shelter in IDP sites. 1.1 million people in north-west Syria require urgent WASH assistance including the provision of WASH service delivery (such as water, latrines, drainage and domestic washing facilities) and supply of family hygiene kits, rehabilitation/construction of elevated and groundwater reservoirs, repair of WASH infrastructure, and water and sanitation management.
WASH Strategic Objectives
- Provide equitable, safe and universal access to sustainable clean water.
- Guarantee equitable, safe and universal access to proper sanitation and hygienic waste management.
- Prevent deadly waterborne diseases and promote public health through safe WASH services.
- Build local capacity and champion change to ensure sustainable WASH systems.
- Develop innovative solutions and advocate to fund sanitation and waste transformation.
BINAA WASH PROGRAM
BINAA’s WASH program aims to improve people access to adequate safe water, hygiene and sustainable water and sanitation services through:
- Restoring of existed water and sewage infrastructure
- Operation of the rehabilitated and restored WASH facilities.
- Supporting systems and operation sustainability.
- Improving WASH in schools and health facilities in addition to providing Support to improve the quality assurance of the WASH facilities and systems.
