KEY FACTS

According to HNO Syria 2023, Nearly 85 per cent of the overall population reported a deterioration in their ability to meet basic needs, demonstrated through a significant increase in the inaccessibility of NFI items, such as clothing, mattresses, and blankets. 2.05
million IDPs reside in last resort sites, these locations lack crucial infrastructure and rely on emergency shelter solutions and continued
humanitarian support.

SHELTER Strategic Objectives

  • Provide displaced families and vulnerable groups access to critical shelter and essential housing supplies.
  • Rebuild homes and shelters to safe, habitable and dignified standards through structural repairs and improvements.
  • Champion impactful solutions through advocacy, partnerships and innovation while showcasing results and benefits.
  • Empower displaced communities to thrive in secure and dignified settlements with access to services and livelihoods.

BINAA’S SHELTER PROGRAM

Provision of shelter and non-food items (NFI) assistance is a critical and life-saving intervention that provides the affected population with safety, protection from the elements, and health risks that could otherwise increase their vulnerabilities.

BINAA’s Shelter program aims to:

  • Improve protection and social cohesion
  • Provide durable, sustainable shelter solutions that fit community culture, adhere to humanitarian standards and principles, and consider housing, land, and property (HLP) and quality technical standards.
  • Deliver life-saving interventions in emergencies.
